As this Lenten season begins today and we prepare for Easter, one of the best things we can do is take time for a period of reflection. One often overlooked area for reflection is the relationships we have in our lives.
- Who are we invested in?
- Who is vested in us?
- Have you let secondary relationships crept into a primary status?
- If this is the case due to unavoidable season at work, have you set an end date?
- If it were all to end tomorrow who would you regret not spending enough time with the past few months…years?
A good indication of what matters most to us is our relationships and the time we invest there. A friend of mine, Ken Seeger, shared a few thoughts on relationships with a great reminder from his Mother before she went to be with the Lord.
The “Glue” of Life…meaning?
The longer I live, the more I realize that our relationships with others, family, friends, co-workers, acquaintances, and most importantly, our heavenly Father and our Savior, are what gives life meaning, joy, purpose.
It has nothing to do with what we have accumulated, achieved, or not; it has everything to do with what we mean to someone else and what they mean to us. One of the last things my Mom said to me before she went to be with the Lord was,
‘It goes so fast.’ It really does…
so make each moment count in someone’s life, especially yours.
And most importantly, give the Glory of your life to the one who made you, provided for you, saved you and Loved you before you were even born. The Lord is my Shepherd and truly wants to be yours!! Hallelujah!! Glory to God!!
Yours in Christ, Ken
Thanks for the reminder Ken!
My prayer for you and me is we make an effort to slow down over the next forty days to invest in the relationship or relationships which would benefit from a little more of our glue!

trusting God period!
