Make A Declaration and Take A Stand

December 31st has always been considered a day of transition as one year comes to a close and the new year is about to begin. The song most people link to this transition is Auld Lang Syne which symbolizes endings and new beginings. Three years ago I found myself alone on New Year’s Eve and thinking about the mess I’d made of my life, some self induced and some out of my control. I was well on my way toward the new life I have know thanks to coming to know Christ in a real and personal way, but Auld Lang Syne fell short when it came to ringing in the New Year and more importantly the New Life which was emerging from the rubble.

So for the last three years I’ve rung in the New Year with Hillsong’s I’ll Stand, which serves as a reminder of where I was and where I’m grateful to be…knowing my Savior personally, standing with arms held high, and trusting God period!

So as you transition from 2011 to 2012 reflect on this past year…is there something missing in your life?

Are you tired of going through life on your own?

Are you frustrated because you don’t feel you measure up or worthy to be loved by God?

Are you frustrated in your efforts to earn what Christ gave to all on the Cross.

Are you finally ready to stop asking God to bless the plan YOU have for your life and ready to experience His plan for your life.

Personal questions requiring some serious soul searching personal answers. These are questions I asked myself as I went through the process of recognizing that God more than my attendance in a pew on Sundays, He wanted a relationship with me. And if you felt some tension listening to the song or as you answered those questions that may be God’s way of letting you know He wants the same from you!

If you’re ready to take a step in that direction I would suggest watching the It’s Personal message by Andy Stanley as the place to start. If you have questions please feel free to contact me directly. Let 2012 be the year where it got personal and you began your personal relationship with Jesus Christ!

Wishing everyone a Blessed 2012!!
